Sri Lanka and Ireland had to wait for seven hours without any update from the ICC regarding their flight to New York, where they will play their respective opening matches, reports newswire.lk. This happened when the teams had to play in the sun, which made them tired.

Due to a 7-hour delay, the teams arrived in New York on Saturday morning instead of Friday evening. As a result, Sri Lanka had to cancel their training session as well. Besides the delay, the team led by Wanindu Hasaranga has been put up in a hotel which is an hour and a half away from the training facilities. On the other hand, the Indian team has the luxury of staying right next to the training ground.
The Indian team has very little traveling to do in the group stage as they are playing three of their four group matches in New York. While Sri Lanka have to play their four matches at different grounds.
