New Delhi. Virat Kohli is not making runs in T20 World Cup 2024. Virat’s poor form ahead of the final against South Africa is becoming a topic of discussion. All the cricket pundits want Virat to come to bat at his regular position number-3. However, the Indian team management is adamant about playing him in the opener. If Virat plays at 3, benched Yashshwi Jaiswal is sure to get a chance to open alongside Rohit Sharma. If this happens, it is certain that Shivam Dubey will be removed from the playing-11. Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has found a way to play Virat at number-3 without making any changes in the playing eleven of Team India.

Shoaib Akhtar was discussing the India-South Africa T20 World Cup final match on his YouTube channel. Meanwhile, he said, ‘I want Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma to open and Virat Kohli to be sent at number three. If Kohli returns to his natural and normal state, India’s problem will be solved. That’s not his game, he prefers to take his time and hit loose balls and then improve his strike-rate. So I am not sure if Kohli is a natural opener. So he is kind of stuck and if Rishabh Pant comes into the opening, the problem will be solved.

Rishabh Pant is currently batting at number 3, Virat Kohli is a regular in Team India. If Pant opens, India may also get a combination of right-handed and left-handed batsmen at the start. However, this is possible only if Virat himself wants or the team management instructs him to play at number 3. Virat performed brilliantly as an opener for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024. In the meantime, he also captured the Orange Cap. Due to which he is opening in the World Cup.
