From the new academic session, there will be no admissions in 19 postgraduate (PG) subjects from the session 2016-17 in ten constituent colleges of Allahabad University. The number of students in these subjects is less than half of the allotted seats. Due to which the Academic Council has decided to close 19 courses. The university has issued a notification in this regard.

Colleges will not admit three to four subjects in PG on an average. Jagataran Girls Degree College will not have MA in Sanskrit. At the same time, there will be no admission in Medieval History, Education Science, Urdu and Arabic in Hamidia Girls Degree College. Similarly Education, Conservation, Statistics, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Psychology, Physics, Statistics, Ancient History, Economics, Geography, Hindi, Psychology, Philosophy, Philosophy, Psychology, Sanskrit, Urdu and Environment CMP in ECC in Ishwar Sharan Degree College. Studies will not be MM-MSc.

No admission in Defense Studies, Education, Music (Vocal, Sitar, Tabla), Painting, Philosophy, Psychology, Sanskrit, Urdu, Defense Studies PG in Shyama Prasad, Allahabad Degree College. In the same order, SS Khanna will not be admitted in Sanskrit, Hindi, Economics, Education, Ancient History, Medieval History, Hindi, Painting, Medieval History, Urdu and Chemistry in Arya Kanya Girls Degree College. In Rajarshi Tandon Mahila Mahavidyalaya there will be no admission in Hindi and Political Science.

Important changes have been made in the admission process for undergraduate courses in the academic session 2024-25 of affiliated colleges of Allahabad University. The special thing is that the colleges will now be able to admit students who have not given the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). However, priority will be given to those appearing in CUET. After this, if seats remain, students without CUET will be admitted. This time, students enrolling in IVV will not have to pay enrollment fees at the time of admission to colleges. The decision was taken in a meeting of college principals with the admission cell of Allahabad University on Friday. The University has also fixed the registration fee of the colleges. Director of Admission Cell Prof. J.K. Pati said the registration fee for unreserved and OBC categories is Rs. 300 and for disabled, SC-ST category candidates Rs. 150 has been fixed. CUET result is proposed on June 30.
