New Delhi. The 11th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 witnessed a huge upset. Host USA created history by defeating former champions Pakistan in Super Over. Pakistan needed 19 runs to win in the Super Over but Saurabh Netrawalkar bowled brilliantly to give America their second consecutive win in this World Cup. Saurabh took 1 wicket and gave away 13 runs in the super over. Now Pakistan has to face India on 9th June. For him now the match against India has become do or die.

America (PAK vs USA) scored 18 runs for 1 wicket in the super over. Aaron Jones and Harmeet Singh batted from America in the Super Over. Mohammad Amir gave 18 runs in one over for Pakistan. During this he bowled 3 wide balls. In the super over, Iftikhar Ahmed and Fakhar Zaman came to bat from Pakistan but Iftikhar returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs.

Chasing a target of 160 runs, the American team scored 159 runs for 3 wickets and tied the match. From his side, Steven Taylor and Monak Patel started the innings. Both added 36 runs in 5.1 overs. Naseem Shah broke this partnership. Naseem ended Taylor’s innings for 12 by being caught by Mohammad Rizwan. After this, Andreas Goss added 68 runs for the second wicket along with captain Monank Patel. Both brought the total score to 104 runs. Haris Rauf bowled Ghos for a personal score of 35 to give Pakistan another win. Mohammad Amir gave a big blow to USA by getting captain Monank Patel caught by Mohammad Rizwan. Patel was dismissed after scoring 50 runs. Aaron Jones scored an unbeaten 36 off 26 balls while Nitish Kumar returned unbeaten on 14 off 14 balls.

Pakistan scored 159 runs for 7 wickets
Earlier, due to the fighting innings of captain Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, Pakistan scored 159 runs for 7 wickets. Besides scoring 44 off 43 balls with three fours and two sixes, Babar put on a 72-run partnership for the third wicket with Shadab (40) at a time when the team was in trouble after losing three wickets for 26 runs. Facing 25 balls, Shadab hit one four and three sixes. Left-arm spinner Nostush Kenjige was the most successful bowler from America, taking three wickets for 30 runs. Saurabh Netrawalkar took two wickets for 18 runs.

America won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first.
America’s captain Monak Patel won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat. Which their bowlers left no stone unturned to prove. Pakistan lost three wickets for just 26 runs. In the second over of the innings, Steven Taylor took a brilliant catch of opener Mohammad Rizwan (09) at slip off former India U-19 cricketer Sourav Netrawalkar, while Usman Khan (03) took a big catch in the second over. Nostush was trying to play a shot off Kenjige when he was caught by Nitish Kumar at long off.

Pakistan completed 50 runs in the 10th over
Fakhar Zaman (11) hit left-arm spinner Kenjige for a six off the very first ball but was caught by Taylor at short third man off fast bowler Ali Khan. In the power play, the Pakistan team could score only 30 runs for three wickets. Shadab hit fast bowler Jasdeep Singh for two consecutive sixes in the 10th over to complete the team’s half-century of runs. Babar had a very slow start while opening the innings. After scoring 10 off 24 balls, he hit the first four off Jasdeep and then hit Kenjige on the boundary as well.

Afridi and Iftikhar took Pakistan past 150
Babar and Shadab hit left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh for a six in the 12th over. Kenjig broke Babar’s partnership by getting Shadab caught by Netrawalkar. The left-arm spinner took Azam Khan (0) lbw on the next ball to take Pakistan to 98 for five. Pakistan’s century of runs was completed in the 14th over. Babar hit Jasdeep for a six but was LBW in the same over. Shaheen Shah Afridi (23 not out) and Iftikhar Khan (18) played useful innings at the end and took the team score past 150 runs.
