New Delhi. Kamran Khan, the fast bowler who has played IPL for Rajasthan Royals, has announced his retirement. Kamran announced his retirement from IPL through social media. Former Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne named him ‘Tornado’ in 2009 after seeing the speed and accurate yorker of this Indian fast bowler. ‘Tornado’ is the name of a storm. Left-arm fast bowler Kamran played 9 matches in IPL and took a total of 9 wickets. He was living an anonymous life for some time now. Kamran Khan holds the record of bowling the first super over in the history of IPL.

33-year-old Kamran Khan wrote in his Instagram story, ‘Goodbye IPL. The game I like the most. This game gave me everything. I would like to thank all my coaches. And also to late Shane Warne sir… Apart from Rajasthan Royals, I would like to thank Pune Warriors India, family and my friends.

Comparisons were made with Lasith Malinga
Fast bowler Kamran Khan bowled consistently at a speed of 140 km per hour in the IPL. His accurate yorkers and speed started drawing comparisons with the great Lasith Malinga. Kamran’s bowling action was similar to Malinga’s. After playing the IPL in 2012, Kamran got lost in the world of anonymity. He didn’t get another chance. The player from Mau in Uttar Pradesh is now playing professional cricket in Mumbai to support his family. He plays cricket for Air India and even today practices for hours.

Kamran bowled a super over against KKR
Warne’s decision to bowl Kamran Khan in the Super Over against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2009 proved to be a master stroke. Then Kamran gave his team a great victory.
