Famous Bollywood director Karan Johar filed an application in the Bombay High Court against the directors of the movie Shaadi ‘Karan and Johar’. In this petition, Karan Johar objected to the direct use of his name in the title of the film without permission. He sought a ban on the film in court. The court has banned the release of the film

According to a report by The Free Press Journal, the High Court has directed that the film will not be released in theaters or on any social media platform until the film’s title and Karan Johar’s name and personal characteristics are removed. Let us tell you that this film was to be released today i.e. on June 14.

What did the court say?

Justice Riyaz Chhagla granted relief to Karan Johar saying that mentioning his name in the title of the film without his permission was a violation of his fundamental rights and personality rights.

Let us tell you that on Wednesday, Karan Johar filed a petition against IndiaPride Advisory and Sanjay Singh, the producer of the film ‘Shaadi Ke Director Karan Aur Johar’ and Bablu Singh, the director and writer of the film. The court heard this on Thursday and gave a verdict.

What did Karan say in the application?

Karan Johar had said in his petition that he has nothing to do with the film and the filmmakers. He has accused the filmmakers of using his name illegally. He says that his name is directly mentioned in the film, which violates his personality rights, publicity and privacy rights. Karan Johar demanded a ban on the release of the film.
