The way has been cleared for Teacher Eligibility Test (JETT) in Jharkhand. Education department has released notification of revised rules for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test. Number of questions and time for JETT has been reduced. Now the students of class 1 to 5 and class 6 to 8 have to solve 150 questions in two and a half hours. Earlier for class 1 to 5 200 questions were to be solved in two and a half hours and for class 6 to 8 250 questions were to be solved in three hours. This has been corrected. At the same time, a relaxation of seven years will also be given if the JET is organised. Its formula is fixed. The last time the JET was held, a relaxation of up to one year was given. JETT was last held in Jharkhand in 2016. In such a situation, the exam has not been conducted for eight years.

If the TET is conducted this year, the candidates will be relaxed by seven years in the maximum age limit. Apart from D.El.Ed-B.Ed candidates, candidates studying engineering and management can also participate after training.

In Jharkhand, Teacher Eligibility Test was held only twice in last 11 years, in 2013 and 2016. Tate was held in 2013 and 2016. The state government had decided to hold Tet every year, but it has not been organized for eight years now. In 2016, the process of appointing 53 thousand successful candidates to the post of Assistant Professor is going on.

The Education Department will send the proposal for conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test to the Jharkhand Academic Council. Based on this proposal, the JAC will be able to take applications for the Teacher Eligibility Test and organize the examination. It is expected that the JAC will take applications for this in July and conduct the examination in August.

A discount of up to seven percent will be available
Candidates belonging to weaker tribal groups will be given a relaxation of up to seven percent to appear in the JET. They will get relaxation in both education and training. At the same time, relaxation of five percent will be given to candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Backward, Very Backward and Handicapped category.
