Lucknow University LLB: Interest in law studies surges, 44 students claim one seat

LLB is the most sought after five year course in Lucknow University. 44 candidates are vying for one seat. After this a trend has been seen among BCA and BBA candidates.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that the number of people applying for university admission under the academic session 2024-25 has increased as compared to last time. Applications for undergraduate and graduate professional programs will be accepted through Friday. 160 seats are available for admission to LLB undergraduate five year course. So far 6935 online applications have been received. So, 44 ​​candidates are vying for one seat.

Apart from this there are 320 seats in BBA. So far 4120 applications have been received. There are 13 contenders for one seat. While 3786 applications have come against 100 seats in BCA. Due to which 38 candidates have contested for each seat. That means the number of candidates is much more than the number of seats.

Now gender will also be studied along with women.

LU’s Institute of Women’s Studies has renamed its Master of Arts (MA) in Women’s Studies program to Master of Arts (MA) in Women and Gender Studies. Spokesperson Prof. Durgesh Srivastava said that the course covers core topics such as gender theory, feminist research methodology, sexuality studies and intersectional analysis. Students will be introduced to sociology, anthropology, history and cultural studies. The spokesperson says that this decision has been taken due to the changes taking place in the educational environment. The course covers not only women but also the complex dynamics of gender. This will give students an understanding of gender relations and inter-relationships.
