Nana Patekar spoke on Tanushree’s allegations

New Delhi:

During the MeToo movement in 2018, actress Tanushree Dutta accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Now Nana Patekar has given a new statement on this accusation of Tanushree. Tanushree alleged that Nana misbehaved with her during the shooting of a song from the 2008 film Horn Ok Please. In an interview to The Llantop, the actor said that he knew from the beginning that his allegations were false. This is why he never got angry. Nana said, “I knew it was all a lie. That’s why I didn’t get angry. Why should I be angry when it was all a lie? And all those things are old. They’re done. What are we talking about?” “What can I say when someone suddenly says you did this? I didn’t do this? I know for a fact that I did nothing.”

What did Tanushree Dutta say?

Tanushree started the MeToo movement in India in 2018 when she accused Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya and director Vivek Agnihotri of misbehaving with her during the shooting of the film. Tanushree said in her statement that Nana tried to ‘sexually exploit’ her in 2008 during the shooting of a song for the film Horn Ok Please. Tanushree said that the song was supposed to be shot on only one actor but still Nana was present on the sets on the day of the shoot. Talking about the difficulties she faced after the allegations, Tanushree told Hindustan Times in a 2022 interview, “A lot has happened since I came back to India. I am looking forward to restarting my career. I am trying and helping people. Interested in working with me, the Bollywood mafia has given my image a bad name, the directors go into silent mode or the project is closed.”
