Does NTA, which conducts NEET and UGC NET is a private organization, not covered by RTI? The central government responded

Let us tell you that this time instead of conducting the UGC NET exam through CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in different phases, NTA conducted it in a single day in pen paper mode (on OM sheet). After six years, UGC again conducted the NET exam in offline mode (pen paper mode). But after the paper leak, now NTA has decided to conduct the exam again in CBT mode in multiple shifts.

NTA’s National Common Entrance Test (NCET) examination was earlier scheduled to be held on June 12 but NTA postponed it due to technical difficulties. This is an entrance exam for admission to four-year B.Ed courses (ITEP). The CSIR UGC NET Exam 2024 was scheduled to be held from June 25 to June 27, 2024, but NTA postponed it as well. After the alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and the UGC NET paper leak, the government examination agency NTA is under the scanner over its transparency and functioning. There is a demand to disband the agency that conducts important national level competitive examinations of the country like NEET, JEE Main, UGC NET, CUET. The government has also constituted a high-level committee to amend the NTA. The committee has also sought suggestions from students and parents to improve its functioning.
