Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh proved to be very expensive in the first two matches of the T20 World Cup 2024 group stage. He also gave more than 30 runs in two matches on the New York pitch. Although he took three wickets in the first two matches, it was not worth conceding more than 30 runs in 24 balls on a pitch totaling around 110. Arshdeep was also worried about this, but in the third match he bowled strongly and won the player of the match award. He sent four USA batsmen to the pavilion for 9 runs in 4 overs.

Arshdeep Singh, who won the player of the match award against the hosts USA at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, looked happy with his performance and said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “Very happy with the performance. I was not happy with the runs I gave in the last two matches. The team always believed in me and supported me, the wicket is very helpful for the fast bowlers and it helps us to have seam movement, pitch the ball to the wicket and let the ball do its job.”

He further elaborated on his plan, “The plan was not to give easy balls to score runs. Our batsmen are also facing difficulty in scoring runs. The plan was to bowl hard lengths. In such circumstances, you can score more runs. When you are playing international cricket, you need to maintain some routine and all your bowlers have done very well. Team India has qualified for the Super 8 of the tournament with one more match left in the group stage.
