Hardik Pandya is the X factor
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of India’s win in the warm-up match was the walk of Hardik Pandya (3 balls, 40 not out, 2 fours, 4 sixes). Hardik is going through a bad phase in his personal life and off the field. But in a recent interview to Star Sports, he said, “I admit that this is a difficult time for me. But I try to continue doing what I was doing before, following the same process. Down in life- It’s uphill. It’s happened to me before, I’ll get over it.” Hardik was fondly remembered in the 2023 World Cup. If he stabilizes his form in this World Cup, he can definitely be the X-factor in Team India repeating their 2007 feat.
