T20 World Cup: Bangladesh fast bowler’s clash with Nepal captain proves costly, ICC takes tough decision

Dubai. Bangladesh fast bowler Tanzim Hasan Shakib’s clash with Nepal captain Rohit Paudel has proved costly. The ICC has found Tanzeem Hasan guilty of breaching the code of conduct in the T20 World Cup match against Nepal. Because of this, ICC has fined Tanzeem Hasan Shakib 15 percent of the match fee.

Tanzim Hasan Shakib took four wickets for seven runs in the Group D match against Nepal. His performance helped Bangladesh win by 21 runs. Meanwhile, Tanzeem Hasan Saqib clashed with Rohit Paudel. The incident happened in the third over of Nepal’s innings.

According to the ICC, on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Saif Angojski, third umpire Jayaraman Madangopal and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena accused Tanzim of violating the ICC’s code of conduct. Tanzim accepted the charges and sentence, waiving the need for a formal hearing.

Let us tell you that Tanzeem Hasan Saqib violated Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This refers to inappropriate physical contact with a player, support staff, umpire, match referee or any other person.
