The government will make life easier for the citizens of the country: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that the reforms which have been going on since 2014 will continue. This will strengthen the economy and increase the speed of development of the country.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday said the government is fully committed to making life easier for its citizens and will take further steps in this direction. He said this after taking charge of the Finance Ministry once again in Modi Sarkar 3.0.

On reaching North Block in the morning, Finance Secretary T.V. Somanathan and other secretaries of the Ministries of Finance and Corporate Affairs welcomed him and briefed him on current policy issues.

The pace of development of the country will increase: Finance Minister

The Finance Minister said that in the last 10 years, due to strong leadership and development-oriented administration, there have been major changes in various sectors and the economy has become stronger. He said that the reform work which has been going on since 2014 will continue. This will strengthen the economy and increase the speed of development of the country.

He cited India’s remarkable growth story amid global challenges in recent years and said the economic outlook for the coming years is full of optimism.

Preparing to realize Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Developed India’ vision

The Finance Minister appealed to various departments under the Ministry to pursue the development agenda of the NDA government with renewed vigor and formulate policies accordingly to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’.

He said that the government believes in ‘sabka saath, sabka development, sabka faith, sabka effort’. He stressed the need for continued collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders, including industry leaders, regulators and citizens.
