UGC issued guidelines
UGC has issued guidelines to all universities and colleges to include NCC as an optional subject. The UGC has said that to have National Cadet Corps (NCC) as an optional subject, a student has to be a part of NCC. Optional subject can be offered only to those students who are enrolled as NCC cadets or will join NCC.

Universities and colleges have been told that they will look into the issue and make students aware. NCC has developed a standard and universally applicable Common Elective Credit Syllabus in line with the New Education Policy 2020. Enrolled students will benefit from earning academic credit scores for their NCC training and obtaining NCC B and C certificates.
